Description: An interactive game using drawing and digital technologies to engage different year levels in learning how to feel safe at school. Students were invited to draw a portrait of teachers and other staff at the school and identify who they were and their role in the school community. They then designed a map showing the campus layout, and programmed a Beebot to find the staff. Students could then play with programming the Beebot to learn more about where they could find the right adult if they needed help.
Measures of success: Students will be able to identify an increasing number of adults that work at our school. Older students will be able to identify where the adult works on the school map. Students will understand the many different people and places you can go to ask questions. Students will understand who to go to for the type of question they have (e.g., you wouldn’t go to a firefighter to ask about your headache).
