Healthy lunch project
Learning level/s: Years 3 and 4
Focus area/s: Food and nutrition
Description: Three classes participated in the Healthy Lunch Project in which students organised and ate a healthy lunch together in the courtyard of the school. Each student brought a healthy item, and chose their own fillings for making a wrap. They drank water and had fruit for dessert. Students then re-created their lunches from a variety of art materials, including modelling clay, coloured foam and paper and wrote about what they had put in their wraps and why.
Measures of success: Students understand their own ‘healthy’ preferences and what makes a healthy lunch and they may bring a healthy lunch to school.
