Lunch box alternatives
Learning level/s: Foundation year
Focus area/s: Food and nutrition
Description: Students decided what are ‘sometimes’ and ‘always’ foods. They looked at swapping some of their ‘sometimes’ foods for ‘always’ foods. For example; carrots and hommus, celery and peanut butter etc. They made these alternatives weekly and produced an ‘alternative lunch box recipe’ book.
Measures of success: If students see the way things are ‘swapped’ in lunch boxes, and can make their own swapping choices, we would have success.
