Description: Students learnt how to read nutrition information panels on packaged foods. They conducted comparisons between nutrition panels on similar products to make healthy choices. They made their comparisons between 100 g each of the different foods. They learned about nutrients such as protein, sugar and fats and what they do to their bodies. They also learnt about the Health Star Rating System and some of the problems with this system as it currently is.
Measures of success: Students are able to explain why a food is healthy based on nutrition information.
