Learning level/s: Foundation year
Focus area/s: Food and nutrition
Description: As part of discussions on healthy and unhealthy foods, students made paper plates with healthy foods cut out of paper, and an intestine stocking stuffed with food wrappers from four days of class lunches. The intestine was part of broader framework of learning on the digestive system and the impact of unhealthy foods on our health and wellbeing.
Measures of success: Students can demonstrate knowledge of healthy and unhealthy foods; they can identify how food moves through the digestive tracts; they can identify the impact of food on how they feel mentally and physically.
