Problem solving wheels
Learning level/s: Years 3 and 4
Focus area/s: Mental health and wellbeing
Description: Students devised strategies for helping them to solve different kinds of problems. They designed a paper ‘wheel’ that they could spin to find different strategies and wrote about what their strategies were, in what circumstances they would use them and why. For instance, ‘I use the strategy of playing soccer when I am angry because I can calm down.’
Measures of success: Students can identify and explain their personal problem-solving strategies. They use the wheels to assist with problem solving and decision making.
